What type of cuisine does Barberio Osteria offer?

Barberio specializes in regionally inspired Italian food. We don’t focus on a specific region, rather you can expect to find dishes traditional to various Italian regions based on the time of the year. We will typically focus on lighter, coastal and island cuisine in warmer months and feature heartier cuisines during our colder times of the year.

Where is Barberio located?

You can find us on Valencia ST between 16th & 17th in the Mission District. We are 1.5 blocks from the 16th & Mission BART station.

What sets Barberio apart from other Italian restaurants in San Francisco?

Our cuisine is informed by our travels in Italy, family traditions and on-going research into the diverse, unique regions of Italy. The owner-operators and many of the team have a long background in Italian food & wine. 

Our extensive by-the-glass wine program is appreciated by wine enthusiasts as well as those who are relatively new to Italian wine and spans a range of preferences, regions, varieties and winemaking styles. On the bottle list, you’ll find over 100 options to choose from in a variety of styles, price points and coming from across the Italian peninsula. 

We have a fantastic low-ABV and non-alcoholic cocktail selection which changes regularly.

Can I make reservations at Barberio?

Yes, we highly recommend making reservations, especially during peak hours! The best way to make a reservation is on Resy. If you don’t find the availability that you’re looking for, you can also try giving us a call after 11:30am on Fri/Sat/Sun or after 2:00pm on Mon/Thur. Our phone number is  (415) 874-9583.

Does Barberio offer vegetarian or vegan options?

Absolutely! Our menu changes frequently, so we recommend calling the week of your visit to get a more detailed list of what vegetarian and/or vegan options will be available, but there are usually always several antipasti and primi that are/can easily be modified to be vegetarian or vegan. We encourage you to let us know if you’d like a vegetarian and/or vegan entree option.

Does Barberio offer gluten-free options?

There are usually always several options in our antipasti and secondi that are/can be gluten free. We do not offer any gluten free pasta. 

If there is a severe gluten allergy, please note that we do make pasta in house, therefore there is frequently flour in the air and we cannot guarantee a 100% gluten free experience.

Can Barberio accommodate large groups or events?

Certainly! Whether you're hosting a corporate gathering, birthday celebration, or any special event, Barberio can accommodate large groups. Contact us in advance to discuss your event requirements, and we'll work to make it a memorable occasion. Does Barberio have a wine list?

Absolutely!

For by-the-glass offerings we typically have ~3-4 sparkling wines, ~5-6 white wines and ~8-10 red wines.

Our bottle list has about 100-130 labels at any given time. As with our food menu, we do rotate through different offerings, so make sure to check out the list for something new and exciting on your next visit!

Is there parking available at Barberio?

We recommend arriving by taxi, ride share, or public transportation. 

We do not have on-site parking and parallel street parking can be difficult in our area. If you do drive, make sure to check all curbs and posted signs to avoid tickets/towing. 

You can also check out Hoff Garage or Mission-Bartlett Garage for paid parking, but please note these garages are not open 24 hours.

Does Barberio offer takeaway or delivery services?

We offer takeaway for phone or in person orders. We do not offer delivery.

We take food allergies and dietary restrictions seriously. Please inform your server of any allergies or dietary concerns, and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.
